As usual, I have another three links, and I hope you'll like them as much as I do!

My first link is from Jeremy Myers at Till He Comes.  Jeremy asks what church would be like if we were God.  Does the church look like God wants it to look?  Very thought-provoking, and I hope you'll go read it.

My second link is from Adam Jones.  He looks at how we react when God doesn't immediately answer our prayers.  This is something we've talked about at Wednesday night kids' church lately, so it really caught my eye.

My third link is from Tricia Lott Williford.  She tells a story about how she spilled a bowl of cereal onto her Bible.  I love books that have been read enough to have some character, and it looks like she does, too.

Check out these links, let them know I sent you, and don't forget to share!  Have a great weekend!

This week I have three more links to share with you.  Two of them are Christmas related.  I hope you don't mind, since the stores have already finished with Christmas and set up for Valentine's Day!

My first link is from Keith Giles and is about celebrating Christmas by giving.  He points out that almost everyone is in a position to help someone else.

My second link is from A Miniature Clay Pot and she explains several reasons why you might think she doesn't "do" Santa, and then she explains the one reason why her children don't believe in Santa.

My third link is from The Wittenberg Door and is an explanation of what God is up to in the midst of suffering.  It is an interesting look, so I hope you'll check it out.

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!  I'm excited to share with you my favorite links for this week, and I hope you will take the time to read and share them.

My first link is from Donna at Full Measure of Joy.  Donna wrote about how she spent a lot of time cooking and hosting events over Thanksgiving.  She was finding herself feeling a little like Martha might have in the Bible.  Thinking about this, she realized how much she missed out on being in the kitchen rather than spending time with the guests.  Jesus was definitely on to something. This turned into an interesting perspective on the story of Mary and Martha,  so I hope you check it out.

I've been reading Donna's blog for over a year now, and she shares something every day, so if you like this one, you should definitely subscribe to her blog.

My second link is from John Byron, on an issue that gets under my skin this time of year.  It probably does yours, too.  Xmas.  I hope you'll read this one because many people do not realize that the abbreviation Xmas is not the negative thing we sometimes make it out to be.

That being said, it is sometimes difficult to keep our focus on Jesus in the middle of Christmas parties, presents, and Santa, so my third link for you is one from Lindsey Bell about her struggles to do just that and her goal to do a better job of it this year.

I really hope you'll stop by each of these and let them know I sent you.  And then make sure you share this post on your social media profiles. People reading and sharing is what makes blogging work!

Another week is gone, and I'm back again with my favorite links of the week!  I hope that you were able to read at least one of the articles that I shared last week.

This week, my first link is from Keith Giles.  This article is a great reminder that the gospel is not about whether we are good enough because none of us are good enough.  I realize this is something you're used to hearing in the church, but I think we tend to not live like it. Make sure you read this post for a refresher.

My second link is from Brant Hansen, a dj on the Christian radio station Air1.  I've always liked to listen to him on the radio, so I was curious what he had to say on his blog.  This link is answering a question that was submitted to him.  A woman told him that she was having trouble with her relationship with God and that it felt like prayer was pointless.  He has a great answer for her, so I hope that you'll go read it.

My third link is from a blogger who struggles with depression.  She explained how she wondered (loudly) where God was during her depression and why He wasn't helping her through it.  The answer she received reminded her that she is being cared for, but in a battle, sometimes we take hits.  This is a great read for anyone who struggles with something (all of us?).

I hope you'll read these and share them, either individually or by sharing this post.

Have a great weekend!

"My Favorite Links" is back, just like I promised!  The blogging world is all about sharing, and so I always want to be doing my part to furthering the blogs that I read.  I hope that when you read these posts, you'll share them as well, either individually or by sharing this post.

My first link this week is from Joel J. Miller.  He's trying to give us some encouragement when we wonder about good things happening to bad people.  He offers some helpful thoughts that come straight from scripture.

My second link is from WhyTheology.  This is a great article about promoting (or not promoting) unity in the church.  There is some talk about denominations and doctrinal standpoints, but don't let that sway you from reading it if you aren't familiar with all the terms used.  It's a worthwhile read, and I'm glad to be able to share it with you.

My third link is from A Miniature Clay Pot.  This writer was at the Aurora, Colorado movie theater where the shooting took place at "The Dark Knight Rises."  Her post shares about how she is still affected by the events of that night but how helping someone else has helped her to move beyond her struggles.  This is a great reminder of how helping others helps ourselves as well.

Have a great weekend and don't forget to share!

The first link this week is an interesting post from Carlos at The Ragamuffin Soul.  Stop Believing in Jesus will give you something to think about.

Let's Sing That Phrase Again . . . and Again . . . is a great post from Tom Lawson that gives us a new perspective on the worship music of the church.

The third link is The Better Me from the Housewife Theologian.  Aimee lets us look at how we try to clean ourselves up to look better, but if we want to clean ourselves up spiritually, we can't do it ourselves.

If you have a blog or know of one that you want to be in the running for my favorite links, please post the link in the comments.

Have a great week!

I found quite a few great links this week, but I'm only giving three!  I'll share the others on Twitter throughout the week.

The first link is from Kouya Chronicle.  You Wouldn't Change the Language in Shakespeare! is an interesting look at Bible translation and the purpose of making new translations in the current language.

The second link is from Bonnie Vesely.  How to Find Your Calling is a great post on how to find out what you want to do with your life.  She also takes a look at why it is important to find out what you should be doing.

The third link is from Full Measure of Joy.  My Desire is an unexpected post about our hearts' desires.

Please stop by one or all of these blogs and let them know I sent you!  If you have or know of a blog that should be considered for My Favorite Links, leave the address in the comments below.

Have a great week, everyone!

My first link this week is from Ridge Burns.  Astonished is a great post about the resurrection and our attitudes toward it.

Second is a post from Keith Giles on Subversive1.  Love the Sinner? is a difficult but important read.  Go check it out.

Third is an inspirational post from Tom Lawson.  Late for Worship will probably surprise you, but you will come away with a new perspective of the worship service.

Have a great week!!

My first link this week is a short one from a new blogger.  It's a couple days late, but it's a great post for Good Friday.

The second link is from Large Family Mothering.  Disappointments and Other Opportunities is an encouraging read.

Third is from Joel Miller.  April Fools for Christ is a post comparing the foolishness of the world and the foolishness of the cross.

Happy Resurrection Day!

The first link is a thoughtful post for bloggers from Jon Acuff.  If you're a blogger you should read The Greatest Danger Bloggers Face.

The second link, In the Community is from Tony Coulombe, reminding us that we need to interact with our communities in general in order to be effective witnesses for Jesus.  He gives examples of how to do this from his own life.

The third link is from Clay Jones.  It is a new look at the blind men and an elephant.

Happy Saturday night!

My first link is from Lindsey Bell.  With Age Comes Wisdom . . . or Skepticism? tells us about the faith of children and how, unfortunately, we tend to lose some of that as we grow.

The second link is from Ron Edmonson.  7 Actions While Waiting On God does exactly what it says. The post offers us seven things we should be doing while we are waiting on God in whatever situations we find ourselves in.

Last is an interesting post on suffering from Clay Jones. Ehrman's Problem 9: He Minimizes the Horror of Sin is a post that you will likely have strong feelings at one way or another, but at the very least, I'm sure it will make you think.

I pray that the rest of your weekend is blessed!

I'm a little late this week getting my favorite links up.  Sorry about that, friends!

To make up for my lateness, I'm going to give you four links this week!

The first two links are both from Carlos at Ragamuffin Soul.  JCPennys, Getting Lost, and Finding Jesus tells about a time he got lost at JCPenny and what he's learned from looking back on that time.  Korean Eyes on a Mexican Head is a clever post about adoption, both adoption into families here on earth and adoption into God's family.

The next link is from the Manifest Blog.  The Man's Man talks about the Sons of Thunder and fear.  It is an interesting look at 1 John 4:18.

Lastly, I have a post from The Determined Christian.  Bumper Sticker Theology is a look at evangelism and how it's not about what you have on the back of your car.

If you have a blog that you want considered for My Favorite Links, please email a link to me at kirraantrobus@gmail.com or find me on Twitter @kirraantrobus

My first link for this week is by author Steve Sjogren on reading in the power of the Spirit.  Honestly, when I read this, I thought, "Well, of course!"  But the fact that it seemed so common sense doesn't mean I've been doing it!  Read his post and try taking his advice next time you read a book or article.

The second link really caught me by surprise because it is about a specific idea that I have been considering over the past couple years.  Please read Everything does NOT Happen for a Reason by Paul Steinbrueck and let me know what you think about it.

The third link is from the Housewife Theologian again.  She took a night watching The Voice (which I LOVE) and turned it into a fantastic illustration about the difference between knowledge and wisdom.  Check out The Voice and Fruit Salad to see what she has to say.

Have a great weekend!

There are quite a few great links this week!  Even though there are only three here, follow me on Twitter this week to see the others that I found.  @kirraantrobus

My first favorite this week is from the Ragamuffin Soul blog.  Chasing Satisfaction reminds us where to find true satisfaction.

Second is a quick post from Chr1stl1ke.  Satan Is Eager to Destroy You says that we have a common enemy, but we have power to defeat him.

The last link this week is This Christian Nation.  It is a longer read, but I was really pleased with it.  Read it; I think you might be surprised!

My first favorite link this week is called God Sees.  This great post talks about a verse out of Nehemiah that most people have not read before, or at least haven't paid it much attention, but the writer has shown us that it reveals something of the nature of God to us.

The next one is from Adam Jones again.  He talks about how "forgive and forget" is not the best response to someone's sin.

Last is a post from BeTheFew.com.  New Year's Soup reminds us of the story Stone Soup and how it can be a picture of the new year and what it holds in store.

If you want to have your blog considered for My Favorite Links each week, please leave the address in the comments or send it to me in a message.

First is a post from The Determined Christian about our identity.  Click here to check it out.

The second link is short, but it has a good word for us about how we pray.  Click here to read Shameless Audacity.

The third link I have for you is from the Manifest Blog.  This post looks at the possible reasons why Jesus was baptized.  Once you've read it, I would love to hear your opinions on this topic in the comments or on the Facebook page.  Check out the right side of this page to find the Facebook box which can take you to my Facebook page if you've not been there yet.

The first link I have for you this week is from Bob Russell.  Click here to read Quit Trashing God's Church.  It is really a great look at the current attitude toward the church and reasons why it shouldn't be that way.

The second link is a guest post by Adam McHugh on the blog Internet Monk.  On a Matter of Motivation is about introverts in the church and why introverts and extroverts are viewed in certain ways.  I'm really enjoying familiarizing myself with his work.  Being an introvert myself, it's been nice finding someone who gets it!

Lastly, is actually a series of posts from Reclaimer 105 again.  This series is looking at a video game called Dead Space and looking at it with the perspective of sin, the afterlife and religion in general.  Once again, I'm impressed with the depth of thought that can be found in a video game, if someone only takes the time to look for it.  Click here for part one of the series.

This first one is titled Waiting Blindly.  Alicia gives a great picture of trusting God to handle things because He can see more than we can.  I love how this real experience turned into a teaching moment for herself and fur us.

The second one is from Reclaimer 105 again.  Customize Yourself: Made in the Image is part of a short series discussing how we can customize our characters in video games and how that relates to us as humans and believers.  Once again, I am blown away by the author's use of video games to give us spiritual truths.

Lastly is another one about a book.  Overwhelmed By Quiet writes about the book Quiet:  The Power of Introverts in a World that Can't Stop Talking.  I've not read the book, so I don't know how much is about introverts in the church, but it seems that at least part of it is.  The article quotes a subtitle in the book:  "Does God Love Introverts?  An Evangelical's Dillema."  Again, I've not read the book, but I want to!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

My Favorite Links This Week

It's Saturday again!  Here are my three favorite links this week.

The first one is from Housewife Theologian again.  Barometer of Virtue compares our culture's pursuit of high quality food.  We want organic, all-natural food, and we avoid processed foods stuffed with preservatives.  Click the link to see how she equates this to our spiritual life.

The second one is Abba Changes Everything which explains the importance of viewing ourselves as Daddy's children.

Last, Why Do We Need Words for the Gospel reminds us that Christ revealed Himself to people by His actions and by His words.  When we are envangelizing, we should be doing the same.

My Favorite Links This Week

Here are three posts I found this week for you to check out.  Enjoy!

The first one is actually a book review I found on Housewife Theologian.  The book she reviewed is called 7 Toxic Ideas Polluting Your Mind.  I've not read it, but the review makes me want to!

The second one is a little out of the ordinary, but I think most of us can appreciate it, especially those of us who enjoyed the original Nintendo game system.  Mario and Manhood: Another Castle looks at Mario and his journey to find the princess.  If you read the post, you'll discover the surprising  but effective comparison between Mario and the princess and two Biblical characters.

Finally, Avoiding Chronological Snobbery is a fantastic explanation of how important history is, particularly in regard to the church.  The writer explains many benefits the study of church history can have for the life of the Christian.  I hope you love it as much as I did.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend and find yourselves refreshed and ready for Monday!
