The Weekend Is Here Again

Hi, friends!  I hope you are as excited for the weekend as I am!  Tomorrow we are probably getting the oil changed on both cars, which is not my idea of a good time, but after that we are going to go to this little fundraiser the Catholic church near our house puts on every year.  I'm not sure why we like it so much and look forward to it every year because there's really not much to it, but they have hamburgers, funnel cakes, and snow cones.  I guess that's enough for us.  Though, we have a cold front coming in overnight, so we will probably end up skipping the snow cones!

This week was a nice one.  I worked last Saturday and Sunday at my second job, and so I am so happy that I have this entire weekend off!  I work next Saturday, and then the following week, I expect to get around 15 hours in preparation for a big sale coming up.  I'm sure by the end of that week I'll be glad I don't do 15 hours every week, but I am sure looking forward to that paycheck!

I also was able to make two! extra payments on an old loan we used to pay for part of my husband's master's degree. (Not technically a student loan, though that's what we used it for.)  There is less than $300 left, and I plan on throwing money at it as best I can, in hopes that we'll have it paid off within a month or two, depending on what my paycheck comes out to from the big week coming up at my part time job.

I had a Premier Jewelry party earlier this week that was lots of fun, and I am getting some free jewelry, so that's definitely something to be excited about!

Earlier this week, I ate a piece of candy and as I bit into it, I heard a loud crack.  I was so scared that I had really broken one of my teeth or maybe one of my brackets (I've been wearing braces for about a year and a half).  I found two small tooth-looking pieces that had me frantically inspecting my mouth in a mirror.  I couldn't find anything wrong with my eyes or feeling around with my tongue, but I had those two frighteningly large bits (for pieces of tooth) that seemed like pretty solid evidence.  I saw my dentist this morning, and I first showed him the two bits I found.  Well he definitely believed they were pieces of a tooth, so he went looking.  And found . . . nothing wrong. He also checked around my brackets, though the coloring doesn't match at all.  He didn't see anything out of sorts there, either.  So . . . what was in that piece of candy???  I have an appointment at my orthodontist in a couple weeks, and I'm going to speak to him about what happened as well.  After he's had a chance to look and confirm that everything is in tip top shape, I'm going to making a phone call to a certain candy company.

So that's what I've been up to this week.  I have a couple blog posts marinating, and there is a guest post scheduled for Monday afternoon, so I hope to see you all around then.

What have been the highlights of your week?  Can you beat my candy scare?
