"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
John 14:1-4 (NASB)
This passage gives us a great opportunity to find some perspective when it comes to the life we're each living.
If your life is hard:
Most of us struggle at some point, but some of us struggle harder and longer than others.
- Finances
- Health
- Addiction
- Marriage
- Children
- Natural Disasters
There are plenty of opportunities for your life to get hard, and once it's hard, it can often be a long and arduous process to find your way back out.
But this verse reminds you that God has amazing, incomprehensible plans for you. To be honest, you may struggle the rest of your life. I certainly hope not, but even if you do, make sure you always grab on to the reminder that He has something waiting for you and it's going to be spectacular.
If you have unfulfilled dreams:
Your day-to-day life may be pretty easy, with generally little trouble, but something is missing.
For the longest time, it's all you've wanted to do.
- Get married
- Have children
- Go to college
- Go to college again
- Be employed in a particular career
- Live in a particular place
And still, after all the time you've been waiting, it still hasn't come to be.
Nearly every day there is a reminder of the dream you're still waiting for. And wonder if you'll ever get there.
I can't say if it will ever happen, but I can say that something is being worked out for you. Someday, whether in this life or the next, it's going to be spectacular.
If your life is pretty easy:
You have the great family you always wanted. You're working in your dream career and living in your dream house in your dream location. You're financially stable.
Of course, no one's life is without some hardship, but the neighbors watching you think your life is pretty fantastic.
In some ways, this is the hardest place to be in. When life is good, that longing for something better tends to diminish.
In the middle of living "the good life," don't get too settled. Remember, something else is coming, and it's going to be spectacular.
Love this. Spectacular is something to really look forward to and I do. Thank you for sharing.
