O - Ozark Christian College

Growing up in Webb City, we regularly drove by Missouri Southern State College (now University) in Joplin.  I always reminded everyone in the car that I would be going to college there.  I honestly think the main reason for that was I hadn't even thought about there being any other options.

Later, maybe in junior high, we drove by Ozark Christian College, located across town.

"Maybe I could go to college there."

The moment was forgotten.  When it was time to really look at colleges, I looked at so many, in many different places.  But in the end, I didn't want to leave my home.  So I applied to two colleges:  MSSC and OCC.

I still didn't intend to go to OCC, but I had a scholarship that would pay for my entire first semester.  Finally, I realized that I was sort of interested in a lot of things, but what interested me most was the word of God, so I made my way to Bible college.

I spent five years there, getting a four year degree.  That always gets a laugh, but in seriousness, I probably could have finished in four or four and a half years, but I took more electives than necessary, and I enjoyed (almost) every minute.

How did you choose which college or university to attend?
