During the time I was in college, two bronze statues were placed on the campus. The first one was a statue of a sower, from the parable Jesus told in Matthew 13:1-23. It was wonderful and symbolic for a Bible college, and because of its location on campus, we almost never saw it in the dark, so it was relatively unfrightening.
But some time later, a statue of Jesus was placed on campus. This one was placed in front of the library to remind us that Jesus is the one who teaches us. It was placed off to one side of the doors, where it is in shadow at the right time of day or night. The library, where we might stay until closing, well after dark, or we might have to use the call box after curfew to have security let us into our dorm. If you go to this link, you can see a photo of the library and the statue in front of it. Even in broad daylight, it's a little creepy.
