T - Teachers

Every time I see a left-handed person writing with that turned hand (you've seen it, right?), it makes me a little sad.  I'm left handed, but because of a fantastic first-grade teacher, I don't write like one.  Yes, I use my left hand, but my wrist isn't turned in that awkward way, and I don't get ink on my hand unless I have a leaky pen.

Most right-handed people do not realize JUST how right-handed this world is.

For example, check out this left-handed watch.  Left-handed people wear watches on the right wrists, and that little stem used to set the time is really in an awkward place.

What about scissors?  Some scissors try to claim that they are ambidextrous, but that's just not true.  No scissors are really ambidextrous.  Check out this page to learn why this is.

And of course, lefties need their own notebooks as well.  If you're right-handed, find a spiral notebook and try to write in it with your left hand.  That spiral on the side sure gets in the way, doesn't it?

If you're right-handed, just imagine what what it might be like if the world was created for someone who did things exactly opposite from you?

Lefties, tell me your best (and worst) stories about being left handed.
