Zombie Church by Tyler Edwards begins with, “You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life” (John 5:39-40). It is the perfect way to begin this book, which is all about the living dead.
Zombie Church is really unusual, but the zombie theme gets the point across. The church is sick. Throughout the book, the author discusses various undead movies and shows the reader how many in the church are walking around like the living dead, even though there is a cure at their fingertips.
Even for those like me who don’t like zombie movies, it is a good read. Not being familiar with the zombie movies quoted is hardly a distraction. Zombie movie lover or not, this book will remind you what life is and where to find it. The intriguing theme may be just enough to get more people to pick it up, and then the teachings presented by the author will change lives.
